Will a TD42 5speed fit a ZD30

Im thinking of buying a GU ZD30 with a nackerd manual gearbox and I have 2 GQ TD42 5 speeds in the shed. Will they fit in the GU. I would think the bellhousings would be different but is the gearbox the same?

I do recalll people saying the td42 would bolt up to the zd30 box so you might be in luck.

They are the same box in the td42 manuals as what's it the 3l manuals so should go straight in you may need the bell housing for a 3l and the clutch to suit but should be all good

Definitely the same box. should slot right in.

Its mostly the engines that are stuffed in zd30 GUs not the gearbox.

Hey Newby. .
My gearbox has some issues and after taking to MR it's probably best I source a good second hand one..
Any idea when nissan recified the weak 5th? If the crd box fits my bell housing etc then it'll open my range and hopefully find a newer box..
Plus as soon as td42 is added to any part the value doubles as we all know so hopefully the 3ltr will be cheaper..

Also any idea on the 2.8td gu boxes? Same same or different?

Late 03 I believe the box was rectified. So any manual from a 4.2, 3.0, 4.5 or 4.8 should bolt up. So you have quite a few options. The 4.8 does have slightly different ratios.

2.8 boxes are different. Much smaller.
