GU 4.2 Engine Numbers

I have a 1999 GU Ute with the 4.2 factory Turbo Diesel ...
its engine number ends in a T
TD42----22T

I have just bought a 2000 GU Ute with 4.2 factory Turbo Diesel
its engine number ends in an E
TD42-----09E

I'm thinking this is a newer motor, maybe out of the Turbo Intercooled Electronic model ???

what year is your 4.2 GU and what does it end with ?

if you have the electronic model then the compliance plate will say TD42Ti as Engine type

the compliance plate says its TD42T and i expected the engine number to end in a T just like my 99 model

engine number is on the top left of the motor in behind the Alternator ... or on your rego papers if thats easier

Engine Number TD42----74a

Though it was originally a 30 litre but previous diesel mechanic owner said he bought a donor 2003 wreck and transferred everything over so hopefully this is accurate.

So I could be wrong
