    What would you choose.

Am after a new set of tires for my GU and can get Maxxis 762 Bighorns 265x75x16 for $275.00 fitted from Bob Jane.

    Or

M/T Mtz's 265x75x16 for $355.00 fitted from Stamford's. This mob also sell Maxxis Bighorn 762's but they charge $335.00 fitted.
Now when I asked why the big price diff between him and Bob Jane, I was told that Bob Jane source there maxxis tires from a different manufacturer/country and are not as good a wearing tire.
    Is this B/S.
Are the MTZ,s worth the extra $80.00?

If any one has any experience with the above mentioned tires could you let me know.

    Cheers.

    Paul.

I know Bob Jane get their Maxxis tyres from China, even some of their part numbers are different. Most tyre shops get the Korean made ones which are better quality.
Bob Jane quoted me $260 on their Maxxis AT771, but the local tyre guy quoted $270 for the Maxxis AT700. They are an identical tyre but the 700 is made in Korea while the 771 is made in China. Even Bob Jane confirmed this for me, so I was happy to pay a little bit extra for a much better tyre.

For only an extra $20 per corner I would go with the Mickeys, but that sounds very expensive for the Bighorns so I would try and screw him down a bit on those and see what you can get.

MTZ's all the way mate but if your looking at that size I would be having a serious look at the BFG KM2's SHould be a similar price to the MTZ but will get more mileage. The KM2's are an awesome tyre in all conditions even on wet bitumen ( have a set on my GU 285/75). So the way I would go would be the MTZ's or KM2's
