Let me know if you have any issues with the GPS, I had some fun using it and the dealers couldn't tell me what the issue was.
Still laughing at the 'solution' to get it working.

    Cheers

My suggestion is to open the glove box and get out the Owner's Manual and read it! lol

You might actually learn something. hahaha

Congrats and take care out there.

    Hi WogsRus,
It's actually quite funny, the search function only worked intermittently. Even took it to the dealers, two salesmen couldn't get it to work either. Ended up booking it in for the 1000k service and they were going to have a look at the issue as well. Turned out to be any easy fix - it only works when the handbrake was on!
And that's not in the manual, I checked. Had me scratching my head for a while.
Certainly be interested in the instruction set you have.
    Cheers

As others have said the skids is the stability control, push the car to hard on the dirt and it detects if it starts going side ways and cuts your power, feels bloody wierd when it kicks in, works well from my experimenting though, turn it off and you can do donuts to your hearts content.

The diff lock is the round switch on the right hand side of stereo, for reference you can only engage the diff lock in low range, pretty sure low range will automatically turn of the stability control as well.

If you want to get some better performance out of those IPF spotties have a look at HIDdownunder.com, bloke there does HID conversion kits for them in 70w, will set you back about $250 but will turn them into flame throwers.

Check your Fuel gauges, do yours show full tanks when you fill up, mine show well under full on both sub and main, some guys show way over, few blokes have had there instrument clusters replaced under warranty because of it. ill be getting mine looked at when i get a chance but nearest dealer for me is 250km away and i have already heard from other patrol owner up here that they are bloody useless.

Ronin, re your question on running in, suburban traffic is, funnily enough, probably the ideal environment. The engine tends to be used in a variety of rev ranges, rather than a constant cruising speed, without being heavily loaded. The other advantage of this is that the transmission and driveline parts are given a chance to work harden. This theoretically means you'll have an ultimately more reliable vehicle than one stressed heavily from day 1, although with modern machining tolerances and practices being what they are the necessity for this has been reduced.
    Cheers
