winch frame in a GU
Has any one made up their own winch mount frame to suit a 2001 gu?
If so did you only use the bolt holes for the bull bar to mount it to?
Or did you include other holes and if so how did you go about it?
The drivers side has the quick hitch pull on it, with 3 holes and welded nuts inside.
I can use these.
The other side has no such holes.
Be great if it did.
Its a Warn winch and the bar is a cheap job.
The mechanic mentioned today that it costs $350.00 for the frame to purchase.
Im in the game so making one up is not a problem.
But mounting it may well be.
Im looking for any advice from those that have fitted a winch to the existing frame work of a GU.
And what you attached it to.
Cheers.

Patrol God
I would think the bullbar mounts to the winch cradle which mounts to the chassis, bullbars are very complex these days. Doesn't help having enclosed ends on the chassis to.

BIG & BALD
My mate got one years ago for $80 but nowhere near as fancy. It's basically just the bottom mounting plate, no side plates.
I'll see if remembers where he got it from.

That is close to what im after. It may even do the job for me.
The area that it mounts to must be on the top of the main rails.
Those are hidden from sight but ill have a good look today.
Thanks for the feed back folks.
