    Headlight upgrade

Hey all, I'm a little confused as to my headlights upgrade. I've decided not to go hids, seems they are more trouble than there worth and illegal! I'm thinking of upgrading the lenses and putting in some good h4 globes. Should I upgrade the wiring loom and if you think yes, what is the best way to do this? I have seen looms on eBay that you connect to your battery so the original loom basically becomes a switch. I am limited on budget but want to do this the safest with best results.
    Cheers guys

OK I'll have to check that out. I was thinking of getting metal housing replacement glass for that reason or if I ever change my mind on hids. So much info just want to get it right. So far if I take my cigarette lighter out I can see better than my stock headlights, they are shocking

Mines an 1990 GQ. The lights were shocking when I brought her. I travel alot of country roads in the dark and seeing is a Major problem. I have difficulty seeing white lines on either side of the road

You'll have sealed beams with glass surround. So either buy a replacement standard sealed beam or buy semi-sealed surrounds (got mine for $37 pair @ bursons) then get some nice bright globes. OR go the hid road (but I agree on your thoughts for hid)
Did you check out the above link?

Yeah I did, appreciated! I think the go is to replace the glass and get some good globes. It wouldhave to be better than what I have. I just want to see where I'm driving. If they seem weak then I will Prob do the loom but I don't see the need to spend that money yet

Yep I just replaced the sealed beams with semi sealed, and got Phillips +100 globes. Haven't fitted them yet..... Also been suggested to silicon around the surrounds to change the semi sealed into "sealed" lol if that makes sense...
