Screw it out (by doing so the spring tension is reduced so less boost pressure is needed to overcome it.)

In increases spring pressure on ball that boost pressure has to overcome, so

Right adjusted it all the way out, but thought boost was still a bit high. Pulled DAWES apart and compressed spring by twisting gently. hopefully this time, I hear a bearing kind of noise after I turn it off hoping this is normal turbo noise winding down. And all because the alternator was changed. oh well. once I get boost right I'll fit system supplied by Diesel smart. I still have hope

what boost are you trying to run. I found my Dawes wouldn't go high enough. Could only get 10PSI at max compression. even stretched the spring a little to get 11.. still yet to get back to it to make it any higher.

When first fitted the vac lines were wrong so spring was stretched to up the boost. now vac lines are 100% and boost was going through the roof and truck was going into over boost. Compressed the spring by twisting and MAX is now 15ps and not going into overboost. Would like to see it a tad lower maybe 13psi. EGTs are great 220 DEG C cruising with boost on 10 psi. EGTs rise as normal when pushed. Dont know if I need to fit the needle valve as well, it's running that well. more updates later as I'm trying a module from DIESEL SMART as well my DP Chip.

Yeah! I've only got mine barely 3/4's in and I'm nudging 16psi at full noise.

Hey TD, best to start a new thread I reckon on your findings of this diesel smart thingo you got.

Shall do, Trucks flying at the moment, was instructed today via email to increase boost. It now peaks a tad over 15 psi. still doing fuel run so I'll try to get some Ks happening.

His got our AFM DSI which plugs into his AFM to allow him to run more then 16PSI without it hitting boost cut. This also prevents his car from hand grenading as the motor will never be able to go into boost cut. Will be interesting to see the results of his extra power and better fuel economy over a few hundred KM's.
