    TD 42 Turbo intercooled

    Hi
looking for a bit more power from my GU 4.2 turbo intercooled patrol using the current standard setup.
Can any one recommend a quality tech (northside Brisbane) who will add a bit more grunt.
Currently stock standard with 3" exhaust. I have been told that an incease in boost and adjusting the fuel pump will get what i need to help with towing the new campervan. Is this going to shorten the life of the motor in any way as it has been very reliable to date.

Hey mate there are a few things you can do. If you take it to a reputable tuner and tell them you want about 12 psi and what you are going to do with it (towing) then they can certainly make this happen and you will be very happy. I Have tuned mine myself running 14psi and a little more fuel and it tows awesome havent had to go below 4th gear. If your not to fussed in driving a little bit i can give you some names. Where abouts on the northside are you?

Try Northside 4x4 (caboolture/north lakes), Mike Vine (Capalaba) has a good name havent heard anything bad about work he has done, Gympie diesel also have a good name for this type of work (may be a little far to drive). There is AMMS at sandgate (kind of a hit or miss with these blokes). Also I have heard than on and offroad mechanical do tuning and they are at brendale but im unsure how they do this as they dont have a dyno. I would recommend one of the first 3 I have mentioned. Hope this helps.

If you do go to on and offroad and he is going to "road tune" it make sure you give it to him with the van on it.
