Low gear noisy gearbox?
Nissan Patrol D 2010, 4.2 l engine, non-turbo
In 1st gear and 2nd gear at 1200 rpm only, the gearbox (?) becomes very noisy (for lack of better description: a vroom-vroom noise). A similar intermittent sound is heard when reversing. The noise is similar to very quick, short bursts of accelaration without actually pressing the pedal or changing speed.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Hey mate
How about slipping over to the introductions section and throwing up some detail on yourself and your rig - something we ask for from all new members prior to posting questions and the like as a courtesy thing.
No harm done, but you'll find you get a better response once you've introduced yourself.
That said, welcome aboard.

Might be common but it is annoying.
Any ideas how to reduce the noise?
Oils is my guess, cant afford to keep trying different grades till I get it right.
So members experience would be appreciated.
Cheers Macca

Hi mate, have moved this 2 the gearbox section of the forum.
And a Bigrig has mentioned, an intro to the forum would be nice.
Cheers
