    different carby for tb42

    hey guys not sure if this is the rite place for this but,
    i was wondering if there is any different carby's u can install on the tb42, and what changes it makes,
    i was thinking like holly, twin carb's.. ect..

    What are you trying to achieve by swapping the carby? Better economy, more power?
    The TB42 loves electronic ignition for both these things.

    more power economy doesnt really bother me as it is im gettin around 400's out of a tank,
    i think i already have electronic ignition, it runs of the dizzy and its like a red cylinder and has bosch written on it i think ,
    i have put another post up about turboin the carb

    ok so i think i just found out the thats just a after market ignition coil,
    so are u abe to explain more about the electronic ignition plz

    Search the forum for pertronix ignition
    you can buy holley kits or do it yourself
    The key is in the tuning timing an jetting .
    Even with a standard carb a proper tune can make all the difference normally stock jets are overly rich.
    Even something as simple as adjusting the float height can make huge improvement.

    If i were to own one again i'd try something like an early ford style weber being from an engine of similar capacity it shouldn't take much to get the jetting right and they should be cheap or free lol.

    ok cool thanks, i just found rusty_nail's post on the electronic ignition it was very interesting but i can not find one on ebay lol. ill just keep looking
