I also gave them a tongue lashing, I wonder if they will take me up on the Coroners reports, and I demanded it be removed forthwith.
But I doubt if it would even enter the thick heads of those responsible.
What needs to happen is a reporting to TV classification tribunal.

Saw this too. Could not believe it. Thought about writing to Holden myself and posting it here as well but was beaten to it. Good to see it is not just me appalled at this ad. Let's try to get it withdrawn

Just posted this on the Gubbermint website.
Hi I am a member of various 4x4 forums and I have come across this video depicting a towball recovery, this is a well known death trap and I demand that something is done to remove it from the media.
I can furnish you with Coroners findings on the deaths caused by towball recoveries.
This advertisment should not have been aired in my opinion and I would like you to investigate, after you have banned it.

I just posted this, don't expect to see it published!
What idiot thought it was a good idea to snatch using a chain attached to a towball. I suggest you look up the Coroner reports on deaths caused bu this very practice, then consider your duty of care to the public, then withdraw this add from TV and Youtube.
If you have any scruples you might then put out a public apology for promoting practices that can and have caused death.

I think it would be a good idea if as many as possible could could post a comment here, try and keep it respectable tho, the Gubbermint are not to blame as far as I see it, they are just well behind the 8 ball, as can be expected.
Here's the link again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHHF8piaxDA

I have just watched it again and it is simply to worst thing I have ever seen in a Tv ad.
Not only is the chain around the tow ball but the other end is wrapped around the bumper of the bogged truck......
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

The only saving grace is a heavy chain will fall quickly. But, I too was dismayed at this and the one where the car goes in the lake and is recovered by snatch over tow ball by tow truck.
