For my trolling rods I use 6-7 ft Gladiator Snakeskin graphite rods 3-4000 reels
20-30 pound braid and 30-40 pound leader.
Also a Shimano Tcurve hi modulas overhead rid with a 200 size Tica over head reel.
I also have another 36 different rid and reel combinations that I use for specific targets.
I got 2 new Shimano Expride 2-4kg rods with 3000 size Shimano Stradic Ci4 that I'm using for nearly everything. Cos they're new. Lol
Flatties squid whiting pinkies.
Yellow belly etc flicking lures around, soft plastics
Wow mate, that's awesome! Thanks! I've got a couple of 4-8/5-10kg rods, not sure what reels they are. But I'll braid them up and hit em with some good leader and see how I go.
You get much smaller stuff in the Murray? Been looking into getting a 1-3/2-4kg rod to double as a bream rod or for squid, that sort of stuff. Wonder if it's worth taking that down too.

Just remember hook size to bait size not to fish size.
My meter plus Cod was caught on a 2/0 hook, tiny compared to the mouth.
2-4 is good but might not be strong enough if fighting s fish wrapped in a snag.
At least 4-6 or 4-8 or 6-8. For peace of mind.
Even small cod under 60cm can fight hard.
Although the fight is in the first 30 seconds.

Thanks for the tips mate. Hopefully find some cod around Yarrawonga. Will be fishing landbased there in a month or so, when the weather is warm enough to take the young fella with me.

Yellow belly getting caught behind the weir at Yarrawonga.
On garden and scrub worms and yabbies.
Hard body Jackells are working well too.

When are we seeing the Mego Master Casts show on C31 mate?? Youd make a classic fishing show host!
Can see it now: "This week we're in Portland chasing tuna in the new 2017 Bar Runner Super Cat. But forget the fishing, check these leather seats!!!"
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Wow! Thats one of the spots I was looking at camping at too, although not for a month, but I'd imagine it'd still be pretty soggy.
Has the river level risen much? I take it that's just a low lying area there? Or has the river broken banks?
