    So should I buy 33's or 35's???

    Hey,
I have a set of 35x12.5r15 Baja Claws on my GQ SWB. Currently has 2 inch lift and doesn't rub... I understand these tyres are small for 35's (around 34.5 with good tread) and they on'y have 5mm of tread on them. I am in the market for a new set and have been toying around with different budget options...
    Silverstone 117 Sports 33x12.5 (quoted $220ish)
    Silverstone 117 Extreme 33x10.5 or 35x11.5 (quoted $289 for the 35's)
    Federal Cougaria M/T 35x12.5 (quoted $270)

I really love the look of the sports but they don't come in 35". I understand i might need a guard chop if i upgrade to new 35's but my question is what will be the impacts offroad. Is there really a discernable difference using 35's as apposed to 33's?
will the 1" of diff clearance they give make that much of a difference?

Also i am open to suggestions of different budget tyres, and also would be interested if anyone knows a brand that makes cheaper 34" tyres.

    Thanks!

The 1" can make a considerable difference when ya diff pumpkin sitting in the mud stopping forward movement. I wish I'd gone 35's but then I'd be spending $'s on reduction gears.

Don't know if I need spacers. Currently got low tread baja claws 35's on it with no issues. Big offset on the rims I think (stick out a fair way). Will see how we go anyway, probably end up getting silverstone extremes so they will only be 11.5 wide.

35's are the go and that extra inch certainly makes a difference. You wont find much better pricing on tyres than what you have already stated maybe try the kumho in there as well. Other than that the ole maxxis bighorns tend to get a pretty good write up for budget mud terrains

I would love 35's but considering it looks for all money that VSB15 will be passed and implemented this year (which completely bans 35's, but allows 33's) I'm just not confident ... and yes, retrospective is the word on the street - I.e. you get picked up once with 35's and warned, get a notice period of some description and have to remove them .. If caught again, there is "talk" of applying the same impound legislation that applies to hooning ...

Not saying don't get them, just saying be mindful of upcoming legislation ...

    I'll say again though, I would love a set of 35's ...

I would also love 35s but my car already had a 3" lift when I bought it. So 35s won't fit, if I was gonna put a lift in I would've gone 4"
the law man is against 35"s also.

Yep 35s would be nice but my 33x12.5s rub as it is, also only have a 2" suspension lift.
