4x4 driver training near Hervey Bay?

Hi, just about to buy my first 4x4 on Monday morning and am looking to do a 4x4 training course to get some practical hands on advise. I've hired a landrover on Frasor about 6 years ago when we were on holiday and had to use the low range box after the storms washed out the roads but that's about it. Will start off with rainbow beach and then start exploring Fraser in a couple of months wants I've got some basic equipment but would like to do a course . Have looked on Internet and found Hinterland at Brisbane, great reviews and a very helpfully guy on the phone but wondered if there was any thing closer to Hervey Bay? Thanks.

Another recommended way to learn is to join an active 4x4 club and go on some runs, tell the boys your new to the game and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you get you head around it.
