Don't get me wrong, I respect the power and reliability of the suspension, diesel engine and the chassis of the patrol but dislike the body. Besides why pay 110K's for an American product when for about 35-40ish you can have an Australian product where parts and servicing are available everywhere in Australia. The people who are doing it are some of the major mining companies. They are converting their patrols as the bodies rust out in about 5 seconds, hummer conversion is galvanized steel. The replica is of the H1 not the piddly H3 sold by holden.

    Rego

Heaps of conversions have beenrgistered in NSW. They're registered as re-bodied chassis but the rego sticker says nissan patrol and I've spoken with several insurance companies who will gladly take my money.

If I wanted a Hummer, I would have bought a Hummer.

Also, IIRC someone is making fiberglass Patrol body panels. No rust - ever!

Still if you have a good chassis that's been in a roll over, why not re-body it with that set up, makes a tough truck look even more tougher!!

I seen one of these and have to say they look very impressive (guy from portland owns it) especially with a h1 4 door ute body on it and rolling on what looked to be 37" or 38" inch treps

although it may be for looks I doubt the owner would use it off road, panels for it would cost a fortune!
