How much fuel will a GQ use?

    Hi,

any guesses on how much mileage I will get?

planning on doing a run through the Tanami again, and testing out the 'New' DA Maverick (rebadged GQ).
She will be carrying a bit of weight and have a loaded up roof, but won't be towing anything.

She runs on diesel, and don't have no turbo thingy

    Thanks

If she running well you should get around the 12-13/100 mark

I regularly see about 13.5 L/100km but I also run muddies 24/7. This is also up and down hills all the time. If I was on a flat road I would expect about 12L/100km.

I had a diesel Mav ute, its was better round town on fuel and my best was about 10l/100km, highway was about 11-12l/100km, i think it was revving a little high for a diesel at 100km/h but was great on fuel, didn't seem to make much difference if it had a moderate load or not. interesting to see how my 'new' diesel wagon goes with 4" lift and 33" muds.
If you going through hell...Keep going

Just got back from Loveday in SA towing a 1 ton camper and got 16l/100km so was pretty happy with that towing a ton and car fully loaded with head wind too.

Youll get better economy with a small trailer on the rear than loading that roof up
The excess wind resisdance will effect the economy really bad
Driving style, hills, weight, wind resisdance will all effect economy
