I have been told that rotating radiator fan could damage radiator when it starts rotate in water crossing deep puddles. Do I need an extra switch off button for such a ocasions?

If you have a belt driven fan, loosen the belt while crossing, or disconnect electric ones
or as you say fit a switch to them.
Depends how deep the crossing is too, as to when youi need to do this.
