GU Patrol GM 6ltr V8 6 speed Auto conversion

hey this is my 98 GU patrol, right now its got a dead 2.8ltr turbo diesel.
After pricing up a 4.2 turbo engine conversion i through it might be more fun and for around the same price to do some thing else. im just about to start an engine conversion of VE ss L98 6ltr v8 and 6 speed auto in to the old patrol

got transfer case adaptor and got that transfer case out
The input seal cover plate will need to be changed to a 4.2 cover or chopped as the adaptor hits the lip coming off it under the seal
Also got the new sump kit the other day should clear the front axle no problems

will be using the ve ss gear selector

got the gear box and the transfer case bolted up together just making sure every thing fits as it should
ended up cutting the tab off the front of the seal housing on the transfer case wont be needed any more plus i could not get a second hand seal housing and a new one was $365 ex Japan!

got the sump on there also making sure every thing lines up

tab cut off should be fine as there will no longer be any oil in this section of the power train

rear of gear box cut to size as per marks adaptors instructions

    ALL most 1.2 meters long

sat the v8 in there on the 2.8 engine mounts knew it was going to be way to far froward and high but still just wanted to see the engine in the car haha

pick up a new bull bar for the patrol aswell

still trying to sort out what i want to do with the cooling system mech fan or thermo's and which radiator to run
small one VE rad 40mm thick and the patrol one 35mm thick but larger surface area

Everything looks a tight fit, or not a whole lot of room for other bits, the rear shaft is going to be short!!
Sounds like you have it sorted though.
    Cheers, Macca
