Can you get a new bolt and nut? Seems you'll need a new nut at the very least anyway.
In your situation, since the nut is hard to get at, I'd grind the head off the bolt, clean everything up and...

Hi there, yep 29 years young.
It is still available.
It's so comfortable to drive, wish I had the time to make it a project of my own, it has real potential.
The interior was professionally cleaned yesterday.
Seats and carpets look like new, a legacy of always using seat covers and mats.

Thanks!
It makes me sad to think of selling it, because it'll be the end of an era.
I hope it finds a good new owner.
Fortunately, Dad's ST30 has almost no off-road use. Mostly long distance touring. There's no mud evident, no rust that I can see, no under body damage. Presumably the timing belt area will be...
...And they're considerably lighter as well. Particularly this one; it's original, the only bolt-on is that alloy bullbar.

The carby has had a kit put in it at some stage - I can see the screws have been removed by someone in the past. Dad can't remember exactly when though.
The short fuel hose is ok, perhaps it was...
Thanks! I've used Patrolapart a few times, they usually have everything under the sun. I'll call them on Tuesday. Still hunting around the garage though. I'm sure we didn't throw it away.
I'm looking for one, for my Dad's ST30.
We have everything except the floor latch.
Thanks to this thread, and helpful posts from Mudnut and Dom, I've got Dad's ST30 Patrol running sweetly again.
The sensors inside the air cleaner control the warm air intake, and had been blocked...
I saw your advice on that vacuum cleaner trick, and did exactly that!
Still a bit of rubbish came out with the plugs... there was some oil or grease holding it in there I think.
Thanks Mudnut,
This RB30 is a bit new to me, having been in a diesel for so long.
I tested the pre-heat actuator, the mechanism operates ok. So, once the ball bearing is removed and the sensor...
Thank you all for this very useful thread on the RB30S.
My personal vehicle is a TD42, however I've inherited Dad's ST30, which is pretty much in original factory condition.
Right now I'm in the...
If the existing radiator is doing its job, that is, keeping g your engine cool enough, then just save the money and get it repaired.
I recently fitted a Provent to my TD42, not to stop oil leaks, but partly to catch oil before it got back to the inlet manifold and partly to monitor the amount of blow-by that was occurring.
Very...
To me, that sounds like a air is getting into the system up high somewhere, such as a fuel line near the filter (yes you tightened them but an old hose can still leak), could also be the seals on the...
Thanks for the welcome!
Looking forward to a few good discussions.
Hi to all at Nissanpatrol.com.au!
Quick intro.
Bought my GQ Patrol new in 1991 and haven't looked back. It's been a good unit.
Was a daily driver as well as a getaway vehicle up until 2012. Now...
