Took 'Moby the White Whale' down to the local dealership for its 10K service to see in the new year.
Gave me 10% off the service fee... yeah, yeah I know it was 100% overpriced anyway.

Took my Y62 for its first off road jaunt today... dang they are good!
Sure got a lot more nooks and crannies for the Mud to get into tho...
My pulse started racing when you said you found some "old boilers"... then all I see is some big metal round thing... not one single pic of the RSL on pension day
Fixed it for ya...
Probably should have said "bars" actually... went with the 3 Bar Nissan jobbies
$290 and 90 minutes including cuppa breaks and they were on...
Would rather be doing that but next best thing is working on the Trol... so I fitted the roof racks today.
They don't... the Y62 does (and a 130 AH Alternator stock).
The Y61 was made only just after electricity was discovered so thankfully missed out on PIA equipment like smart alternators
Disconnected the smart Alternator shunt... now 14.4 volts all day loooong!!! ... take ya emissions and shove it I say
Playing around with tune on the 4L85 gearbox... autos make my head hurt sometimes but have managed to get 3rd and 4th zactly as i want but the TCC in 2nd is still giving me the irrits.
Mark...
We seriously need a selfie of your face when you read that...
Right or wrong doesn't matter... just that instant in time as the brain processes the post should be priceless I reckon....
What a coincidence... I think exactly the same thing every time I see a Prado on a Flatbed...
What did I do to my Patrol today?
Sweet FA!
Why?
Cause, apparently, "It's a 1999 Y61 GU Patrol TD42 ST Series 1 Coil Cab Chassis" repeated twice is not a specific enough model description for the...
Yes, me... and bloody well worth it I might add altho I was running 35's at the time
Got out the Spider Spray, Cobweb Broom, NBC Suit, 6 Pack of Beer (hydration is critical in an NBC environment), Long Handled Shovel (big bastard steriod Spiders), Stomping Boots (little bastard...
Drove it to work and back...
Checked the Patrol emergency fluids;
6 Pack of Beer in car fridge - check
2nd 6 pack in panniers - check
6 Pack of 'morning after' Coke - check
600ml of water - cheeee... ummm... is a bottle of...
Today I fixed my Sub Tank Pump fault... again.
This is about the 4th time and we have a strong love hate relationship
It loves to fault out every 12 months or so and I hate having to fix the $#%$#...
No sugar or bad fats in aluminium... you can eat as much as you want
Saw the rain coming (finally) so parked it on the lawn and squirted some detergent on it for it's annual bath...
It hates getting a bath but cleanliness is next to... is next to... uuuummmm......
You need a Chev mate... they burn enough oil so all you need is a 2 litre Ice Cream container
You... or the rear bar? :p
Got some touring coming up so took off the 35's and put on the 33's.
I'd forgotten how nice my truck drives in the dinky wheels
Sounds like a very knowledgeable man.
Many, many moons ago in my boy racer heyday it was often uneven Castor angles between the LH and RH suspension that caused a vehicle to pull one way or the...
Surely it's not the "wheel" bearings that are offset, it's the swivel hub bearings isn't it?
I just put control arm spacers and castor bushes in mine to correct the castor, camber can't change...
I gave mine an Enema, 8 quarts of 15W40 and a new filter then a 4 hour Battery Charge and a big hug.
It seems to have enjoyed it.
