Wouldnt have thought it was a lazy injector the knock would be loud even when it warmed up , thanks for the ideas though might have to look further into it .

Yeh already adjusted the tappets and she's not just a little tick it's a knock , only on one cylinder which is very noticeable at idle and loud as hell when cold for the first two min

Have GU td42 99 mod with 170,000 km with a little knock in the top end and so far narrowed it down to the hydraulic lifters or just one at this stage so I'm looking at replacing them all...

yep thanks , i thought the fuel comp allowed the extra fuel in ( under vacuum ) at the top end of the rev range just didn't remember which way the screw went either clock wise or anti .

I think there is also a screw on the top of the Boost comp as well as the main fuel delivery screw that i played with last time, from memory you screw it anti clock wise on both for more fuel but...

Yeh , i'm starting to see that in the manuals but i would have thought there would have been some sort of a break down diagram instructing you on the best fuel set , screw setting ect

sorry thought i stated it was a QU my fault , got the dyno do in Melb Thomastown also got a good bit of advise from MTQ in regards to the boost compensator , gave me a little help...

Sounds like you and Benny have a bit of banter going on haha i think i will just tickle the fuel up a bit and keep an eye on the fuel consumption but its good to find out what most guys are doing...

I thought 30 psi is a little high , never heard of anyone running that high

yeh only a stock pump had a guy dyno it and stuffed it so had the pump done up and got it back to standard and cleaned the injectors at the same time , i have heard you can put in some bigger...

So no internal mods are not needed on the td42 you say , im already up to 170,00km and was thinking of full rebuild kit through it i think there only $2500 thats the reason behind the question about...

Are these other guys using there trucks in comps or something , cant say i have ever heard anyone going into the 30s and they must have...

How long have you been running those pressures , any probs with the engine after the pump was fitted ?

Huh , got no inter cooler as yet that will be next up grade , i take it you replaced your pump from standard ? think at the moment i'm getting around the low 12's L/100

Got another question in regards to the amount of boost on the engine with out doing any damage .
I am after torque with fuel efficiency so after the turbo gave out while up at Fraser...

I have a alloy box on the back of my GU Ute , made my own two draw system which sits on one side and the fridge ( no slidder ) and esky on the other .
Made then from 5 or 6 mm ply with steel 50 x 50...

I think i checked the supply to the pump solenoid when it first started happening cause it seemed a little sus that it all started after he reset the pump and cleaned the injectors for me ,
