I would call that a chisel... :p
I think in the new models the two systems are somewhat integrated. The Nissan documentation I read said that TCS will limit engine output if it detects loss of traction. Interestingly I've never had...
I get the same on mine and I am fairly sure the extra body roll that occurs due to the lift kit is the source of the issue. I'd be keen to know what sensors/thresholds are used to determine when the...
Yeah, that's what I was reading about. The car is still under warranty so if it is that at fault, the dealer can sort it out.
No boost gauge...yet. That and EGT gauge are next on the list of additions.
I picked up some things to check from another thread so I'll start there.
I know what you mean about the ESC but that...
Resurrecting an extinct thread here I know but I'm curious if you ever got to the bottom of this? My Patrol has intermittently shown similar symptoms in very similar circumstances.
Generally happens...
Yep, that's where my factory foggies are fitted.
It is automatically enabled whenever you start the car. You can then disable or re-enable by pushing a button. For the amount of time I'm going uphill on winding roads it won't cause me too much...
It would but probably not in the space of moving only a couple of metres. I was doing some reading about the traction control in the newer GUs and it seems it actually controls engine speed as well...
I did some testing this afternoon and I think it may be the TCS doing it. When I turned the traction control off I had no problem with power on some similar tight bends. I'll do some more testing...
No worries ;)
I'll add to this when I do the other ones, but they are a much simpler job since I'll be utilising most of the existing pipework.
So here's how it went... Oh, and I should point out I did this when the car was cold. I got up close and personal with the exhaust system at times so would have been a bit unpleasant if the car had...
I did the same drive today and the same thing was happening. Most noticeable on the hairpins where you have to drop down to second gear to slow into the bend, then accelerate again. Midway through...
Kit arrived today. It's the PU hose type with the push fittings.
As soon as I looked at it I wondered how I was going to join that hard plastic tube to the existing lines.
Any thoughts or do I...
Hmmm. I'll look around. Someone may be wrecking a GU somewhere. Problem is I'm not sure there's much left of the flare to attach them to.
I'll check with the dealership I bought it from since they...
Yeah, I don't want to spend the $120ea they want for the factory ones :/
Just awaiting my kit. It's in the post. Hopefully gets here before the weekend.
OK, here's a couple of pics I took. Sorry it's a bit difficult to get in there to photograph properly.
As you can see the corner chunk has been neatly removed with a blunt axe, or a rusty spoon...
Ah sorry guys, yeah. It's a 2014 GU Ti 3.0L CRD. Previous owner fitted a 3" exhaust, performance chip (CMD if I remember correctly) and a Pedders 2" lifted suspension setup. I fitted some BFG...
Yeah, so make sure you seat the sensible child in the 2nd row middle or chaos will ensue ;)
Thanks :) Potentially doing a trip this weekend so I'll post up some pics if it eventuates.
Last trip I did I noticed an odd behavior in my Patrol. I was going uphill on a winding road and noticed that on the bends the engine just seemed to lose power even if I put my foot down more. It was...
Yeah sure, I'll post one up tomorrow.
The only reason I noticed it was collecting crap was there were twigs sticking out between the rubber sealing strip on the flare and the body panel last time I...
OK, I'll have a play on the weekend. Thanks :)
How are the ones on the earlier GUs attached?
