Not sure about having a tap just waiting to leak, but I'm sure it's no different to a bolt leaking.

-22 is the ideal offset. Just make sure you have flares
I wouldn't worry about the upgraded vacuum pump. Just get a decent amperage. Especially if you have a duel battery system
As long as it's not the spigot bearing squealing away.
The only problem is that with a coolant leak, not only are you losing coolant, but you are also losing pressure from your cooling system. The whole point of having a closed cooling system is that...
Welcome to e forum
I'm sure it would be fine. A lot of the modern turbo petrols run the same oil as the turbo diesels. Ie- dexos 2, which has the cleaning additives
Has this happened after you fitted the Dawes valve? If so I would check all your Hose connections
I'm a light vehicle mechanic. Been qualified for 4 years now. Was at a Holden/Mazda dealership for 7 years and have just started at a nissan/Mitsubishi dealer. Only been there a month now so still...
Definitely shouldn't be soot around that area. I agree with Kevin, while cold start it up and feel around the turbo for air/exhaust coming out.
The clutch on the pulley is just a one way bearing. They put them on diesels mostly because when running diesels "knock" the crankshaft around harder, almost like a hard jerk on every power stroke....
Wow thanks for all the replies, it seems 15s are the most popular choice. Is this for tyre price? Or just that is what people run
More information would be helpful, what is the boost pressure against? Did this start happening after anything? It does sound like a possible exhaust leak or intercooler leak. I would go over all...
i have fitted Dawes valves to these for similar problems. I normally fit boost control valves as well and set boost around 18psi. I think instructions said 16psi from memory but they lagged a bit.
Check the intake and make sure it's not blocked. Simple quick check. Being diesel you only need air, fuel and compression. It starts so compression must be decent, and it runs so there's some fuel...
The only problem I can see with doing this is finding a good hose to go on the ovslish inlet
LPG is not a strong point of mine, but I would get it starting on petrol first. Fast winding and not firing sounds like fuel pressure. Have you taken a fuel line off and checked if fuel is even...
Been thinking about changing the intake system on my sd33t. I'm running 10psi boost and I think the old style carby shaped top filter and prefilter on the side are robbing a fair bit of power. I've...
Fixing up my MK patrol and trying to get the right tyre and rim combination. As what's power without traction.
It currently has the 16' stock nissan rims on it, but have 4x 15' sunraysers as well....
I don't know if you fixed it or not. But the fuel tank sounds like a blocked breather. I've seen tanks almost suck themselves in to the point of breaking the fuel sender from this issue.
But the...
As with all diesels. Adjust the pump, increase boost/turbo charge and a bigger exhaust. Three things to increase power on just about all diesel motors.
Sounds like it could be a faulty battery or a starter motor drawing too much current. If you have a current detector you can see what it's drawing.
I've been thinking of doing the same thing. Has anyone else tried seeing how good the prefilter is.
Thanks for the polite introduction. I just need to get some photos of my rig and upload them.
Just signed up after purchasing a MK patrol ute. Is my second 4wd I've owned, first being a 60 series cruiser wagon. I'm a qualified mechanic at my local nissan dealership however have only just...
