Sorry to hear you've had dramas mate. I've run this exact combo for a few months now and it has been fantastic. Hopefully the new one will be good to go for years!

Cheers Guys. Yeah hoping to join a club and get out there a whole lot more with it next year. Really impressed with the GQ so far, glad I picked one!
Well finally got it on the beach and up to Double Island Point, then Freshwater track to Rainbow Beach on Sunday. Went awesome in the sand! Loving it! (apart from the fuel consumption haha.)
...
Well the Ignitor II and Flamethrower II coil turned up this week so I thought I'd wack it in today.

Lately I've been upgrading the whole...
I just wanted to follow up on this because it may help someone one day...
The problem came back, although not as bad, no backfiring, idled fine and would actually drive the first few streets like...
Ok guys problem solved! Thought I should report back with the fix.
Checked Vac lines, a few had perished right at the ends where they are stretched over the flared ends of the pipe, fixed those,...
Thanks - I'll be replacing all the vac lines this weekend so I'll give that a go!
I've just ordered the Pertronix Ignitor 2 and Flamethrower coil. Hopefully this will help.
Good idea there too! Can't hurt to throw a new one on. Will give it a go. Cheers.
Good idea Robo. Cheers
Thanks mate, I'll give that a go. Maybe something's not quite right there. It did go a LOT better and smoother with the new extended rotor button.
Actually I'm thinking of going for a Petronix...
I agree however it ran perfectly on the new plugs and current timing for a few weeks and has just developed this issue, so I don't want to touch the timing etc until this is sorted out and back...
Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help here.
TB42 Carby, running fuel only. Has new plugs, coil, leads, extended rotor button, points.
Choke is functioning normally, fully closed on a cold start...
Hi Guys,
Recently bought a 93 Maverick TB42S
Off the carby I've got 2 vac lines that run up to the firewall to this connector. On the other side is a vac line with a bolt in it!?
What is...
Thanks guys! Yes the float is a home made job! Very happy with it, and a lot stronger/safer than a cheap new one.
I just purchased this a few months ago.

Basic rundown when I got it: 93 Maverick done just 157k's, TB42 with Extractors and nice...
I sent Qld Transport an email recently to see if I could get a date as to when the National Code of Practice - VSB14, would be put into place up here as it was time for new tyres and I really wanted...
Yes that's right. No big deal though.
Thanks mate that answers my question! Definitely going for the II now.
Good to know the lip can be removed as easy as with a bench grinder too. Cheers!
I'm going to go with version II. Hall effect should be the most reliable and the dwell adjustment should be a good thing. Not much to lose anyway.
I'm keen Robo.
Certainly have had a good read mate. Looks like a very easy install.
Cheers
That's just what I'm hoping to achieve too Nic. Sounds like money well spent. Thanks for the feedback.
