You realise the headlights in a GQ are earth switched.
That means the "normal" earth lead runs 12v power through the fuses, and the leads for low beam and high beam are earths through the column...
Have use moly grease in the slide pins for years (cv joint grease). Doesn't seem to bother the rubber pin seals

To clear TB42E ecu, remove battery terminals, and put the terminals together to discharge any current left in the system.
Good to clean out the threads in the block with a thread tap if you've got one. Surprising how cruddy they get.

When out bush with poor radio signal (am/fm), knock a tent peg into the ground and pour a billy of water over it.
Hook a jump wire between the radio aerial base and the tent peg.
