Thanks for that. Had one bloke tell me that even a 2" lift I would feel and stick with standard height. As I am not planning on changing wheel size he advised against the lift.

Was told by my mechanic the other day that my beast was a fair bit lower than it should be. Have only had it for about six months, a 96 GQ TB42E and the previous owner used it to tow horse floats....

Have been doing a bit more research and can set up a carry bar on the rear of the patrol with twin swing out tool / fuel boxes that can each house 4 x jerry cans making a total of 8 x 20L = 160L on...

Planning on a major trip next year in my TB42e GQ, but have a dilemma re the current range for a full tank of fuel. At least one of the tracks I will be doing is approx 800 KM between fuel stops. But...

Assume you mean 24L / 100 for the home town driving. On gas those figures look good. Was tossing up to go dual fuel, but this one came up first and am still happy.

You got it thanks mate. Both the fuse and the relay for the horn circuit were under that black cover you mentioned beside the battery. Was not expecting to see them hidden away under a cover...

Just got back a couple of hours ago and for the complete trip - Canberra to Nanango with a few detours,, a total of 1700Km I averaged out 15.36L / 100Km

Will start by checking all the fuses and the horns as well, and see where we go from there. Once again thanks
