How have you found this catch can setup over the long run? Stood the test of time? How much filtration?
Handy to know mate. I think I'll lean away from that much reduction as we're setting the patrol up mostly to travel around Aus. Though a serious downside is the fact that the eastern side of melb...
Good stuff, hopefully we get a bit of interest!
What happened to the rd28? Head? Harmonic balancer? Overheating?
Welcome! Sounds like a nice ride.
I don't get why overboost can be an issue after fitting the plate. Anyone care to enlighten me?
Thanks mate both the boost and EGT are on the list; don't seem too expensive and both worth while. Where abouts did you install yours?
Have you got the standard exhaust on yours? Curious to know...
Were you happy with the 85% reduction gears, what made you go 85%?
Anyone heading out Toolangi way over the next month or so?
Thanks for the welcome everyone. Loving the knowledge here!
Good stuff Ned, welcome and what mods do you have planned?
Welcome and good luck with the conversion!
Any parts in particular or the entire thing?
Sorry should've been more specific with my language meant replace the glow plugs to the TD42 setup as is explained in a thread somewhere on this forum.
I am a new owner of a 2.8 and love it. Dont expect it to be a 4.2 and i think youll be happy especially for the price. Common mods seem to be plate to block egr, chip, 3" exhaust. Keep the weight...
So just to clarify, it does start on cold mornings but just takes longer or is the smell, smoke and rough running your main concern? Judging by the number of threads about it the rd28 glow plug...
Champion, that's some top notch info thanks mate. It came with a snorkel fitted so appreciate all the knowledge!
Welcome, I hope the patrol impresses after years of Range Rovers.
Welcome and geesus mate that's some consumption! Have you done anything to your setup or is that completely stock?
Mate that is quite an upgrade in capacity! Ah good stuff. Did you fit any gauges to your previous setup Phil? And you never had any problem with the k and n filter or keeping it isolated from...
Sounds like a nice ride mate! Hope it treats you well in the wild west.
Thanks Phil this is the kind of stuff I was hoping to hear about. In your daily driving did you regularly rev over 3000rpm? I know where the red is on the tacho but I haven't been game to take it...
Welcome mate! I only just got my first patrol and its a dream to drive, hope you can find one likewise.
It may seem like an obvious question but this is my first time owning a diesel (GU rd28td) and I wanted some input on how people drive theirs in terms of rev ranges and whether anyones fitted an...
Did you end up trying out any of the recommended areas Coxy34?
