Check that the brake backing plate is not touching the brake rotor.
You don't say anything about the state of tune.
If it's still at factory settings it will be very lazy.
I usually change up at around 2k or so when driving normally.
The image with the wheel shows the hub lock. Not the same as a diff lock.
The brakes might just need to be bled. Start at the LSPV (Load Sensing Proportioning Valve).
It's mounted on the...
Looks to me like the switches are for fog lights IN the bull bar, and driving lights ON the bull bar.
The rear work light probably has a switch nearby. Not legal to be able to operate rear-facing...
The 50mm hitch usually has a collar at the opening, but it's not present in your pic.
If you're in Melbourne I have a near new S4 tow bar that's surplus to requirements.
What's the chassis like??
Make sure the plug at the switch on the 'box is properly connected.
Upgrade the turbo and fit a performance pump.....and clutch....
No more hill problems...:smiley_thumbs_up:
...otherwise, convert your auto hubs to manual, or fit manual hubs from a ute or DX...
No, but it is shown on the compliance plate and recorded on VicRoads database.
I never tried towing 3.5T in stock trim. I'd guess not much fun.
No issues at all towing 3T with a 12mm pump.
Mine was changed to 5 seat capacity as that was how it was configured at the time of the GVM upgrade.
It can be reverted to 7 seat capacity by refitting the seats and belts and presenting to...
I believe the Pedders upgrade is for the 3L only.
I had the GVM of my '99 TD42T wagon upgraded here:
https://statewide4x4.com.au/
Happy with the work and the result.
The unladen ride is very comfortable.
The GCM is unchanged at 6540kg.
I wonder if they've allowed your GCM upgrade because it's still well below the factory TD42 GCM.
Air bags in springs are solid, but air bags in place of bump stops are not??
2.5T load carrying capacity??
Wagon rear diff max load is 1.8T from factory, or maybe 2T with gusseting and GVM...
The factory s1-s3 wagon side steps bolt to captive fittings front and rear on the underside of the body, not the chassis.
I doubt the ute body would extend back far enough...
Yes, I understood that John. Just thought I'd add the other perspective.......:)
...or, hopefully not....:D
Maybe a bit late, but have a look at a brand new 'box.
That's the way I'd be going, if I had to do it again....
...
I wondered if you'd spot it....
There was another pic that was handy, but I went with yours 'cos it showed the turbo coolant line.
Yes, it has been a while hasn't it?
I'm still snooping around. Don't post much though...
Some have reported they can access the drain plug with a few socket extensions from inside the wheel arch.
Doesn't work for me though. The exhaust partially blocks it.
Passenger side/rear of the block

It can be difficult to access in the car.
If it's a factory turbo, cracking the turbo coolant line banjo bolt and allowing it to drain is much easier.
If you plan to go into deep water you should sort it. The air box/snorkel joint at the inner guard is nowhere near water tight.
Cut the flange off the air box inlet, and the front off the snorkel...
Yep. Bought mine new in Jan 2000. Nov 1999 build. Currently 312,000km
