Hi mudnut, have checked all the electricals in engine bay, cleaned/re-grounded earths including the CP30 which I swapped over to another and checked coolant hose to the convertor. I even took bypass...
Still got me baffled. Definitely not the Peel CP30 gas safety switch either...
Thanks mudnut. That happened to me once years back with low coolant so since then I check and renew it and never been an issue.
I can't figure out the install I have but it's been like that for...
Hi mihit, spark plugs were changed not long ago and the HT leads. Battery also a year old. Have a battery tester for CCA and still tests good.
Could it be the CP30 Gas switch?
Hi all,
I have a mid 90's GQ TB42EFI Patrol on dual fuel that always started fine on gas and petrol. I normally leave the switch on the gas position as it is an Impco system that starts on petrol...
Thanks. You confirmed my thoughts. I had a bit of a go undoing a couple of bolts this afternoon then gave up. Seems like all the converted Patrols had that type of tank fitted to replace the rear...
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has tried to remove the aftermarket petrol tank from a dual fuel GQ TB42efi by going underneath, without a hoist? Is it possible to get it out and back in with...
Thanks dom14 will look into as soon as I get a chance. Cheers
I pulled the fuel line from the fuel filter and it isn't pumping. I just need to find the direct wiring to the tanks and put 12v there to see if the pump then works so I know it is something in the...
It is an auto switch that starts on petrol but only momentarily and then switches to gas. You would always hear the pump as you start the engine in both modes. Circuitry is a bit confusing at present.
Hi, thanks. If the switch is on gas or petrol I don't hear the fuel pump whine. It would make the sound in either mode in the past. Hope that makes sense.
Hi all,
Any advice please on my 93 model GQ 4.2 TB42E dual fuel Patrol that now runs only on gas but not petrol. I did some troubleshooting and I no longer hear the fuel pump whine when I turn the...
Thanks for trying guys.
Thanks PBBIZ2. I know it will be hard but someone in Perth last year had a couple of new ones and sold them for $5. Unfortunately I only started to look 3 weeks ago so I missed out. These are not PIN...
Hi all,
Anyone have an early 90's GQ Patrol working single CD Player. Model is Clarion PP-2027U and works off radio/cassette unit. Have a pic to show of the bottom CD player. Thanks, Aflman
Cleaned everything up this morning and lightly oiled but clicking noise still continuing in 4WD. Sounds as if it is coming mainly from passenger side front wheel. Got me stumped now. Like having the...
Thanks will study the diagram and do some more reading tonight. I'm glad yours is the same as maybe in a few models they put those pieces on the axle instead of the back of the hub. I cleaned it up...
Thanks doka404. I think you are right that a circlip or something is holding the other 2 bits on the axle missing from the back of the hub although I cannot see right now how to get them off. Do...
Hi, thanks for your input. The 2 bits on the axle seem to be fixed there as they don't come off. I tried with both as they are like that on the other front wheel too.
Hi guys,
I had our GQ TB42EFI patrol do a major service and when I went to put it in 4WD mode (I have the auto hubs) it made that clicking noise which usually happens when you disengage but it...
Thanks again guys for all your great advice. Cheers
Hey mudmav like that one lol. Reckon we all have stories like that. Good thing is we usually get there in the end and learning is what makes it worthwhile and the fact that I'm getting a kick out of...
Thanks gec. I will do both, it's stretching the budget but the right thing to do. I got Bendix pads this time instead off genuine nissan pads.
Should I get a new rubber sleeve/boot for the...
Thanks heaps guys. I have a stand on the other side of the axle and put the wheel under the rear door chasis too :) I'm certainly old enough and not as dumb as i used to be to know not to put...
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and hope someone can please guide me on how to remove rear brake rotor from my efi GQ Patrol. Once I remove the caliper I notice there are two small guide holes on the...
