yes put some pads under plates can use inner tube or similar
dont use anything that holds moisture

In Melbourne there's a mobile service (Thread Doctor, I think) for this sort of thing. Costs about $20 to remove a broken bolt/stud and put in a thread insert...
mate has just purchaced a 2010 st ex police patrol and has no mud flaps
but left all the electronic cabling in and light bar is on top of bull bar
is that one rule for them and one for us
