Hi KL570 .. It was a Triden branded unit. I can't remember the P/N .. but I think there was only one for the GQ. It's the same P/N for petrol or diesel.

Good job.
My clutch booster has completely stopped working now. The brake booster is intermittent too, although could just be a lack of vacuum from the clutch booster leaks.
Yeah, you should be fine to put a turbo on those. From memory the stock fuel pump may not have enough pressure tho. I'm not 100% on that.
I looked into that also. Do you have carb or efi?
If you have the carb, then go straight-gas, and try fit 2x gas tanks. The range is crap tho.
The diesel is ideal for range. I can get 1200km.
I used to have a TB42 in mine, then a few months ago I did a TD42 conversion. Fairly easy if you have the know-how. Same gearbox and engine mounts. Different bell housing, clutch, and radiator.
...
All done. I picked up a diesel cluster from the wreckers, and just substituted the tach module. It's just 4 screws.
Some say that you need to run an extra wire, but that's not entirely true. ...
The resistor only changes the speedo needle.
Works very well and is simple to do.
How did you go so much sand and rust inside? Was that from the trip home without a windscreen?
When I rolled, I should have taped a plastic over my windscreen for the trip home (~4hours). It...
I give up. Tried everything to get this working, but it just doesn't want to work. There is every chance I have damaged the input circuitry in the tacho.
Just bought a tacho from the wreckers...
It didn't have any affect on the ODO. I'm not too fussed as the ODO and Speedo were each out by different percentage. I really only use the ODO for maintenance schedules and can easily calculate...
That's true. Just hope I'm not wasting time with a damaged tacho gauge.
Out of interest, the petrol tach gauge is marked serial number "XP-728E". What is the serial number of the gauge for the...
I had been using the Normal Output for a few nights before trying the high-volt output. Hopefully by testing the High-Voltage output hasn't compounded the problem. The information that came with...
I have a signal generator here, but the Nissan tacho doesn't like this signal either. But my signal generator can only vary frequency and duty-cycle. It cant change the amplitude.
The diesel...
I came up with this idea for easier speedo adjustment. I drilled a hole through the cluster inline with the resistor. This way I can adjust it without having to dismantle the cluster. When...
Yeah I had already found it. I will try it tonight.
Which ignition system did you install that caused issues with the tacho? When I had the TB42, I removed the points and put in a Petronix unit....
Hi Patch,
Thanks for the reply. I had thought it might just be picky about the input signal. It used to work when I had the petrol engine, but since then I have tried so many things to get it...
Got everything working .. except the tacho. The signal converter is functioning and I have a handheld tacho showing the RPM.
I pulled out the cluster, and dismantled it. I ran a signal generator...
Hey mate. I know the feeling. Unfortunately there are very few people in business that will apply the same level of care and time compared to doing the job yourself. I have come across many 'good'...
This is really interesting ... I was trying to remove my steering wheel from the column spline, which requires lots of banging on the steering wheel ... and afterwards I found that the clutch peddle...
Hi KL570 ... what were the symtoms of the Clutch Booster going? I think mine is on the way out too. The clutch peddle has gone really heavy.
How are you going with the rebuild?
I had problem when I bent the rear panhard rod. Check the bushes in the panhard as well.
These guys show the installation of the Jaycar Kit ...

Thanks.
Should be fine if you have the rear on stands and remove the rear wheels.
What size wheel do you have? Does it allow enough adjustment for 33" ?
Did you just use trial/error to set the resistor?
Thanks .. Yeah the burgundy is almost a perfect match. It's a pity the gold is slightly different. At some stage I will do some blending across the door. It's possible that I had the wrong base...
