After standing still for 2 months (and after a very wet trip over the holidays) I thought I'd have a look at the car and start her up..............

Oh, that sounds good. I think I will try that option first (just get the auto hub and make sure I get the bolts!!!). Seller told me everything was there, although I don't know what 'everything'...

Thanks for your reply. I know now I lost the whole hub assembly. There still is this little snap ring sitting on there.
I am really sorry for my non knowledge, but what are my lock nuts on...
