It all works a treat, no vibrations at all. The only mod I made to it was to install a small piece of felt under the arm so it doesn't leave a tiny mark on the front edge of the pocket where it...
I would think so mate.
Out of interest, what's the yellow wire for?
Sad day, just watched all my hard work in this Patrol drive away :( although I am confident the guy who bought it will appreciate it and use it for what it was built for.
I in stalled a 50 degree switch on mine, but never actually got around to connecting it, so I guess the worst case scenario. Fan installed but never switches on and my temps are fine.
I used an air hacksaw for mine, worked a treat .... Twice.
Yep, glad you said that, as I'll run with that too. :smiley_thumbs_up:
Although it should have twigged with me whilst I was cutting out the curved hole, how did everyone else do this with a 4"...
Wait till you drive it with the scoop on, half the bonnet and bullbar disappears....
Seriously, who'd get that wrong :1087: :1087: Maybe I should have read that thread...
They do package them well don't they, a few others could learn from them.
Just make sure you cut the hole in the bonnet in the right spot... Don't want to get that wrong.
It's a patrol thing mate, from what I've read there's bugger all that can be done.
People have said they can fix it with new "things" in the gearbox, but have then commented that the noise returns...
:( :( :( hahaha

Na mate, swapped a heap of gear over and sold the GU7. You'd be surprised how much GU7 gear my GU4 TD has in it ;-)
I sold the CRD shortly after picking up the 42, so this is the only Patrol I have atm. Although it is my 4th Patrol
GU 1 - 4500 petrol
GQ - 4200 petrol
GU 7 - CRD
GU4 - TD42
In saying that...
Haha that's epic, like I said he know's quality hahaha. There might be something subliminal in that...
PS: my 200 gets delivered tomorrow afternoon.
It's called Road Trip. Has a red/white petrol bowser icon.
I've never met your mate, but I like him already, he knows quality when he sees it :icon_driving:
That's the main thing, then.
I used auto Sikalfex, I think it's Sika 225 or 227 or something like that anyway.
Nice job mate, looks great. How'd you go squeezing in half a tube of sikaflex to seal the airbox to the inner guard.
Yeah it's a pretty ordinary piece of design work ay! I'm surprised they can breath at all standard..
I've done 2 of them now and got to admit I'm not in a big hurry to do anymore either.
Thanks, Eric. It's getting delivered to my place next Friday. I'm taking the Patrol out for it's final run this weekend so mixed emotions all round.
LC200 Sahara
I'll be sad to see it go that's for sure, but in saying that not a bad replacement coming.
