My RD28T does a pretty decent job. I can't however compare it to a 4.2, as they don't have those here :(
They are however, as someone already stated, known for their weak heads, so should you...

Mine doesn't whistle that loud when driving 100-110 KPH at all and as far as I know it's just the factory turbo that's still in..
I however let the speedometer stick around 90 KPH, usually ;)
I've got the exact same ones as on that pic posted early in this topic. They do hold normal take away coffee cups perfectly, as well as those McDonalds-/Burger King cups used for fresh drinks and...
Does age also matter when registering a car? Perhaps that could explain something, in case your ages differ :P
Then road taxes don't even differ that much between our countries, I guess. Very interesting to learn about such things :)
That sounds fair enough. Driving around uninsured is considered a crime here too and if one manages to cause an accident whilst driving uninsured, rest assured that they're in real big trouble at...
Alright, but what exactly does TAC mean?
Totally!
Well yeah, that too of course, though do know that the Netherlands is one of the few European countries, if not the only one, where road taxes are this high (for the more heavy diesels). Also you'll...
The road tax is an amount of money you pay here in the Netherlands, either per year, or per quarter of a year, for just owning a car. There are of course some snags to the system, but in general the...
Been 'offroading' (note the quotes) in Slovakia, with the troll, about 5 weeks ago. Recorded a vid and thought I'd share it here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP241JNCTUs :)
LOL how cool is that ;)
Anyways, welcome of course! Any pics of your trol available yet? :)
Not sure if I'm already in the position to actually welcome folks to this here forum, but here goes: Welcome!
So eeh... You happen to have any pics of your trol available?
GR is used in (some) European countries and can be either the Y60/GQ or the Y61/GU. To know which of those 2 it is, you also need to know the year it was built; Y60/GQ was built up to late 1997,...
GR is a type-name that's used in Europe (not sure if it counts for the whole continent or just some countries in it; at least in the Netherlands they do).
'GR' on it's own doesn't really say much...
@ The Turdinator: I reckon you have the 5-door GQ? Your fuel economy is far worse then mine, but if you're driving a 5-door version that could explain some difference.
My 3-door '97 GQ usually...
I just installed this one in my GQ:

Works like a charm (ISO-connector was already there, luckily) for cheap (at least here...
Hi neighbour (Germany, Great-Brittain -> both next to the Netherlands) ;)
As far as I know, at least the Y60 has a good reputation. Haven't had any major probs yet, with my Y60 (2.8 TD); hope to...
Luckily we don't have those over here. Just a lot of small flies and, now and then, a lost moth comes crashing into our radiators
Is it generally a good idea to put an insect screen in front of the radiator, or does Australia just have that many insects, compared to -for example- Western Europe? :P
In the first case, I might...
Head gasket seems unlikely to me, unless it's burning coolant and/or there's oil in your cooling system and/or there's coolant in your oilsystem.. Head gasket's main task is, by my knowledge, to...
My first suggestion would be to check your radiator, especially seen the circumstances you're constantly driving in. Is your radiator still clean and letting through enough air?
Although a lot has...
Well, I guess I'm an exception then; my '97 GQ is not having these issues so far. Better stays that way though
Ah yes, of course.. Petrol.. Consider that post of mine not posted, please :icon_bonk:
I have a 2.8l GQ/GR. But since it's a late 1990's version, there's bound to be differences between mine and yours?
Those are solar cells. They help lowering the electricity bills
