Living the dream, Cuppa!!
Before taking out the plugs, use a bit of pipe to fit over them and vacuum out any crud that will fall into the cylinder.
I'm out of ideas. Hopefully a diesel Guru can help you.
What colour is the smoke out of the tail pipe? A blue tinge indicates burning oil. Have you sniffed the oil on the dipstick, to see if it smells strongly of diesel? If it does it could be fuel...
Follow the hose under the filter housing. If it is only missing at idle check for a vacuum leak. If you remove the ball bearing in the pre heat, you will hear the flap open when you put on and pop...
How much is missing? All engines will use some. It coats the cylinder wall and a tiny fraction will burn off after each stroke.
The lithium pack control circuit board.
It cooked a circuit board which I could not replace.
On a GQ I think the top mounting rubbers are too small to take up all of the flex. I have thought about re-designing a set to fit mine after I get the radiator done.
If you go with the lithium pack, be bloody careful about using the accessory power outlets. Mine copped a shorted lead on low voltage socket and it stuffed all of the charging circuit too. There will...
I found that an old camera tripod leg is great for the times you need an adjustable pole to press the pedal to check the stop lights or trailer socket when you are alone.
Same here, in the Nanny State.
That woulda been heart breaking. I hope insurance paid out for you.
I shoulda called this thread 4wd fails.
One way of flushing your hard earned cash.
Here's your chance to post those wonderfully disastrous picture fails.
My first offering: A photo bomb instigated by a territorial wattlebird.
ROH used to be good quality rims. I bought a Trak 2 rim as a spare. It started rusting around the cut outs within a couple of months. Got another under warranty, and it was rusty within 12 months....
"Thar she blows!"
Has it got the Nissan Anti-Detonation System installed (NADS) If so then maybe consider it. Go NADS!
Talk to the owner about what has been done to the grenade, er, engine and...
Hello, My name is Roger...
One week later...
Hello, my name is Chris...
Different name and same voice.
After you have checked the fuses in the drivers side kick panel, and if MudRunners suggestion fails, have a look at the electrical connector under the passenger seat. Using a test lamp, you should be...
Welcome to the forum. This is from a GU manual so it might be different. But it is a starting point.
Finally scored a series 2 RB30 crankshaft. Got a few other goodies off the engine too. Now I can get the old engine rebuilt and it can be a spare.
I used cable for years, but the cable kinked when doing a job so when money became available I switched. Life is so much easier using dyneema.
threedogs, John, where did you get your recovery points tested. And are you willing to send another point to them to get tested with soft shackles?
That is correct, but adds another failure point, and takes away the whole point of the soft shackle.
