G’day blokes and lady’s, so I’ve had my first inspection for engineering of my gq patrol today, and while I was in the engineer mentioned to me that some gqs came with factory split rims, and the...
G’day blokes, my gqs making this real annoying creaking noise under the car when i clutch in. sounds the same as the typical pedal spring creak but much louder
car currently hasn’t been driven...
gday legends, just bought myself a recently rebuilt td42ti 11mm for cheap chasing a little bit more power than the boost comp 10mm. I’m after experience from people who have run these pumps on a non...
gday legends, so i’m chasing a very tiny airleak that i can hear on the back of my fuel pump when i hand prime the lifter on my td. everything is new, all rubber lines (including small one from spill...
the scrivets in the scuttle only go into the cab on gu’s as far as i know. i had the scuttle panel off recently to clean it out and can feel the bottoms of them all reaching in.
i worked it out...
gday legends, i was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips for where this water would be coming from in my gq? evap is there but no ac so not that, have heard they can leak from the air supply to...
yeah they did replace the seal, i’ve been told by a lot of people (including patrolapart) not to put sikaflex or silicone anywhere in the seal because it blocks drain holes and can cause rust due to...
Gday blokes, just wondering if anyone’s had dramas with non genuine windscreen seals in their gq’s? i used the $99 one from patrolapart as i couldn’t justify 300 for genuine, had the screen replaced...
i was told it could definitely be pointing to this, which isn’t the end of the world as it’s not a huge issue so i can save for a new pump if i have to. although i kind of figured if the pump was...
yeah its definitely not in there, there was no spring under the banjo bolt and i had a tiny hook all the way in hole about 50mm and nothing. it’s honestly random, sometimes it’s with foot flat...
around 215k on motor and 100 something on the pump. previous owner had it rebuilt when he installed the turbo, as well as new injectors glowplugs etc
also it happens before full boost is even reached, around 10-13psi
i wouldn’t think so, it’s 4” piping from snorkel all the way to turbo with a massive ryco filter and the cooler pipes are all 3”. it’s running 20psi so i suppose there’s a chance it could be sucking...
need some ideas please blokes.
i’ve got a random occasional power cut in my gq, which only ever happens in 3rd above 2k revs. it’s very short, longest it’s lasted is a couple seconds. definitely...
keep in mind that once the wobble begins it typically indicated rooted kingpin bearings. taking shims out will fix it but not for long, it stops it because it increases bearing preload immensely.
i’d advise turfing the one way valve and putting a little fuel filter in the line, they’ll catch water too in the event you get that deep and the little cup does sweet f all
hey bud, that little upside down cup is just an empty sleeve that attempts to create an air pocket if you were to be that deep in water. the top of it isn’t tightly sealed at all, i covered it in...
this is exactly what i was thinking, i’m so cautious now when driving after being in two accidents i was lucky to survive (both not my fault, one was a roll over in my old hilux), hopefully it’s...
lucky save there! haha
i do have everything that’s done to my car listed on my policy, but obviously the 35’s & a 3” straight through make it not roadworthy. i have heard lots of people say to...
i might ring up as a customer ‘looking to buy a car and enquiring about insurance’, question the whole big tyres/illegal mods situation and see what they have to say.
this is a very good point Mudski. i’ve got everything listed on my policy, lift turbo piping etc all the fruit, but i’ve heard lots of bad feedback from people saying insurers will deny claims if...
G’day legends, so the age old dabble of having mods on our daily’s interfering with insurance. yes, i know the first thought is to get rid of them, or get engineering, but that’s not what i’m asking....
will do mate, it’s got the plastic splash cover back over it that goes around the filler neck after i took these photos. cheers!
that would be the one mate, is that a gu? gq one is a bit bigger and black, i binned mine & replaced it with a little ryco Z14 fuel filter. $10.90 from supercheap and i’ll be it’ll do a better job...
hey mate! nah that’s the little breather ‘cup’, it’s supposed to create a pocket of air to avoid water entering the tank if it was to be submerged, but it isn’t very affective. the one way valve is a...
