Forget zip ties , use electrical tape to fix a beer can half full of gravel to the exhaust pipe , put three cans on and vary the amount of tape you use .
As the tape melts and lets go the can drops...

I had one pin break on the right side so I removed the hinge got the broken pin out and replaced the pin , put it all back on and couldn't get it to line up or...
