Hunting around for a tow horse with a bit of comfort and a bit more towball down force capacity than my Old Trol. I have seen many 4.5s for sale. Most are lpg/petrol which would be ripped out anyway....

Bugger! Interesting choice of a fix, though. When the gearbox plug stripped out. The mechanic welded a socket on, which gave us a whole lot more chance of applying torque.

Maybe a worn thrust bearing? Or something loose. Does the clutch fork fully disengage?

Sorry to do that to you, but after years in the maintenance game, I've seen and heard of tools, parts and rags being left after repairs.

Haven't left a bit of rag inside the the rocker cover, or had a bit of sealant get into the engine. Since it only started after you had the cover off.

I've used the anderson plug on a small winch. Was not impressed with the design as vibration and movement of the cable resulted in stoppages. Hopefully you have fixed your problem.
