apart from the obvious alarm & immobiliser, you can fit a hidden cut-off switch for the ignition, starter circuit or electric fuel pump somewhere.. hide it under the seat or somewhere behind the dash...
might be worth installing a transmission temp gauge so you can see how hot it is actually getting... just for peace of mind
has it got a seperate trans fluid cooler ? if not, installing one woud make a big difference.

there are GU's out there for under $15k. i just paid $11.5k for mine (stock as a rock but).. mines insured with RAC for about $12.5k.. i think the max they would go was about $14k..

ok...didnt realise all that would need doing :S not really keen on changing half the front end..... how high could i go with just a spring & shockie upgrade ??
im interested to know this too as ive got about 80kms to 1/4 tank of gas so far... mind you i had a VT Commodore wagon on gas and that 50 litre tank used to get about 250 - 280 kms... the GQ's are...
