Yeh I've found out the housing is bad without being chipped. I'll probably put the old one back in until I can finish the job properly...
I'll give that a go tonight.
I've got the max boost set to about 20PSI at the moment. With a pretty aggressive spool up rate.
I've experimented a few things with lower max and different spool up rates but nothing has made any...
I've got a 2000 ZD30 with the whole nads thing set up on it.
My exhaust was pretty screwed and I was having a little trouble with limp mode so I put a Berklee 3" exhaust on it along with the HPD...
Thanks.
It did change the car a lot. I had to open up my needle valve a bit cause it was spooling up a bit quick, and there's a noticeable increase in low down torque.
I was a bit worried about...
I have a 2000 GU ZD30. It's always been good with regards to smoke, hardly anything! It's got a reconditioned motor in it with only about 12,000k's. My cat converter was dead so I've knocked out out....
That's what we thought but we called the guys at Exedy and the clutch that we bought suits the dual mass and their solid flywheel. But only their solid flywheel, we don't have another option.
So I've ordered a flywheel. $700 later... I had to go Exedy to match the clutch. Probably a good thing.
With the master cylinder, is there a sure way to test that to make sure it's operating 100% ?
Yeh I've been told not to machine the dual mass. I'll end up getting a new solid flywheel I think. Just waiting on a couple of prices.
Read the first post.
There wasn't any movement on the shaft.
The master cylinder brings the clutch lever to rest on the pressure plate. What I mean by being able to move it with my hand is that I can push the lever into the cylinder, so the bearing is being...
Well just had a terrible day.
Last week my clutch, or what I presumed to be my clutch, gave out.
It was slipping a lot, couldn't get out of my driveway. We could here it grinding and the smell......
Yeh my EGR is blocked.
That's an interesting thought about the cat... The previous owner fixed/welded it up at some stage. I do plan on a new exhaust, just don't have the funds yet. Is there a way...
It's got a brand new genuine maf. Only about 2000k's since I put it in.
How much does the exhaust factor in? It's the stock exhaust but it's in pretty bad shape.
When I know it's about to...
No it's not going over 14PSI. It doesn't get to 14 PSI, because it overboosts, i.e. limp mode, at 12 PSI! Sometimes if I'm on a decent hill it'll get to 14PSI and overboost, but it never jumps over...
Yeh, limp mode. I usually just take my foot off then give it a bit less throttle.
Yeh I tested with another gauge cause I thought it was quite low.
The needle valve does prevent overboost partially... It controls how fast you spool up, so if it spools up mega fast, your gonna...
I've searched a bit on the forum, couldn't find anything that was similar to what I'm seeing.
I've got a 2000 ZD30. New motor, new turbo, new nearly everything except exhaust...
I have NADS all...
Replaced a fuse for my tail lights.
I know! Exciting stuff!
Although I did have a bit of excitement a few days ago... Got over 100mm of rain and our roads turned into rivers!
I ended up putting a small bolt in there. It was a weird thread so I had to tap it but it's all good now. Works a treat!
New 3 core radiator went in today!
Also cleaned up a bit of wiring.
This is the original. It has no outlet to the overflow.

The new radiator has this outlet to go to the overflow tank....
Hope so, I'm thinking I might be able to take out the outlet nipple and put a small bolt with some thread tape in there...
I've just received a heavy duty 3 core radiator to go in a 2000 zd30.
The radiator has a pressure cap on top where the original didn't.
Is there somewhere I can run this or is it not needed/can I...
Yeh the system was flushed not long ago, radiator was all good. I've got a new thermostat on the way now. It's an easy $30 to see if that helps.
