Did this problem only start after the replacement of the throttle position sensor. If so that would ring alarm bells for me given the symptoms you are experiencing.
good luck
well done and congrats Mav.
Its nice to hear someone having a win :)
well I thought it was about time to give the old girl a bit of a clean up. I am going to paint my GQ as well :devilred:
I decided to take it on myself and after a lot of sanding, sweating,...
I would be having a good look at that relay. It may have burnt or pitted contacts. If it is not a sealed relay you should be able clean the contacts with a bit of wet and dry. It is really common in...
you could try plugging in the original alternator without mounting it to check if there is any change to the warning lights fault.
I wake up with a bit of stiffness in the morning too. I guess I should be thankfull! :devilred:
You can usually tell if it is just the brushes as your alternator light will flicker for a few weeks before giving up the ghost completely.
Just out of interest, how many K's are you guys getting out of your clutch?
My GQ ute has just clicked over 200000K but I have only done 5000 of them so I am not sure of its history.
Yendor is correct,
the pink wire is switched to earth via a relay to activate the pump.
In a serviceable system you only see volts on the pink side when the earth circuit is not completed.

I would swap out that tail light fuse(sometimes they look ok but are not). According to my wiring diagram that is a likely cause. Failing that it could be the light switch. Nissan didn't waste money...
noisey fan had been annoying me for months. Not any more!!!!!
Thanks Ripper
Hi, thanks for a great site. Already found it hugely helpful in getting my 94 GQ ute into good shape.
Cheers all
