Not much. Probably not even a tablespoon. What can happen is you can have a blown gasket or cracked head, while running this may not be a problem. Its when the vehicle is stopped and it can leak some...
Hmm. Could have been a possible gasket/head issue and has ingested some water causing a hydraulic situation.
Anything different that you can recall leading up to this? Oil usage, coolant usage, hard starting, overheating etc.
Maybe some v blocks and measure at different points to see. I machined a length of 4140 rod up that passed through the front centre and into the other side. It was bent to start with and the shaft...
Did you tack the housing to the bench or anything? Maybe check it for straightness before installing the components as the weld can pull it a fair bit.
New damper on it?
Thats max for the turbo. The pump obviously has more in it but if winnie wants to use that he will need to change the turbo.
Very good. Will be nice once its tuned and not having to worry about the boost. will be a pleasurable little unit
hmm maybe. Then winnie will have to get a Borg Warner :D hello 200kw :p
I hope you didnt let it over 25psi....
All good mate. I am far more curious as to your thoughts on it than getting the pump back. My comment above was more in jest than anything else.
I drove 18.5 hrs to fit one.....
Enough bubble wrap in there for you? Lol
False economy. They wouldn't even last an hour with what we are doing. They might on a granny spec na engine.
This wont happen. Winnies pump is worn so it struggles to build pressure hence the hesitation or missing on acceleration.
They are the same flow but the the 4601 runs at a slightly higher pressure. I commented to winnie here or in another about a 4601 as it runs at a pressure close to that of what the pump builder sets...
I would recommend a carter 4600 or a 4601.
I will take the dog comment as a compliment to my loyalty and workmanship on your datsun.
Yep. Even on a standard turbo there are gains to be had.
Yeah its surprising how much difference it makes getting rid of the majority of the restriction.
Look harder :p he has an aftermarket one up near the fuel filter
Good job mate. Have you gone for a spin yet?
I think so too ;)
Gu diff time.
