Cheers mate had a yarn with a mate today who has a gearbox repair business and he said the same thing. Apparently there is some sort of cavity that doesn't allow the oil to fully drain.

Changed out gearbox oil in an 06 TD 42 TI could only squeeze in 3 litres. Ute was level and oil was dripping out of the filler hole. Any opinions regarding the capacity?

Regarding the oil filter question I just cut the bottom out of a 1 litre oil container leaving about a 25 mm lip. As posted above I let it drain overnight then do the filters. The first time I did...
