Just checked my Intercooler in a radiator shop and found leaking despite the dealer said it was a hose clamp loose issue. So informed dealer and hopefully will get replaced under warranty....
Not really a Bosch CRS1 - but I wouldn't think Delphi would be significantly different to Bosch given the similarity in Common Rail technology.
The interesting point to note is the OEM 2 micron...
It would be easier to check the air filter. If the soot is coming from intake side of turbo under pressure the inside of air filter would be full of soot.

If the soot IS from turbo then MAY be there is a leak in turbo from exhaust to intake side.

There cannot be any soot coming from turbo intake, as you would expect turbo intake is filtered air and oil vapour.
Is the alternator the only place you have the soot?
