If its like the rest you just need to apply vacume to the actuator. Id check out those vacume lines with the age of that truck. Most likely all cracked.
Lift up both tires and they should both spin...

The heat may be causing expansion of weak components in the dash. The cluster is just a flimsy film with soldered joints on it. There are some labled as ground. it clean it all up and test the joints...

The stereo was replaced and aftermarket 10a converter put in its place by previous owner. He/she also ripped out the stock clarion reducer from the rear...

Tracing the feared 24v to 12v converter wires! :O they are all cut....

Its hard to tell because the pathfinder is lifted 7" but the safari has almost the same lift. Both are sporting 33 tires.

Think the safari came with a lift, it has some newer looking blue coils and adjustable shocks
