Hi all. I've read plenty of threads here but none seem to state any results which is what I'm after. The decision is do I have original carby rebuilt back to spec or get the holley carb from recarb....
Cheers guys. I'm leaning toward nothing to worry about then. Oil is clean and pretty sure coolant level hasn't moved. I agree the choke could be sticking on too. Didn't know you can't reverse into...

Hi all. I installed a winch on my patrol a few weeks ago and it seems to have completely drained my battery while off. I've made the assumption it's the winch because never had a problem with the...
Thanks heaps robo. Great info. I'll go and hook them all back up this arvo. Is there a reason why anyone would just block them off like they have?
Yeh I've got the manual and it gives you a bit of an idea of what's what but because they are all blocked off or missing the hoses it doesn't help too much. Need more detail than what it gives
Hi all. Really appreciating all the help I've been getting on this forum. Just trying to fix up all the little things on the patrol and noticed most of the vacuum hoses are blocked or just not...
Thanks for all the replys, and I don't mind the thread turning into debate as I always learn quite a lot by reading it. So to narrow down this problem ill try to clarify what's going on a little bit....
Hi all. My mates td 42 has a knock that is only there loud at times and other times its not there. Haven't yet noticed any patterns as to when its there and not.

Thanks for the reply's. should have mentioned its a carby tb42. Does the same still apply. I imagine it would.
I've had a go at setting tappets about six times now. I've followed the method described on this forum which is exactly the same as in the manual but I'm still getting the annoying tick tick tick....
Ha ha. Startin to agree with you on that one. Just been through that manual on the forum. Very good instructions so thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Thanks. I've got idle and timing pretty spot on I reckon. It's really just the mixture I want to get somewhat right just so I don't do any damage or chew too much fuel between now and getting it to a...

Thanks. I didn't touch the de acceleration device, mainly because the screws were tight and I was just damaging the screw heads. All the vacuum hoses are deffinatly as they were. Not to say there...

Ok so today I pulled the carby off my gq and gave it a good clean out. I pulled it all apart and replaced all the gaskets as I went. When I put it all together and fired it up there is something...
