Hi all,

My front side passenger door lock is driving me crazy. Quite a while, during driving over rough surfaces, it would automaticly lock only to be unlocked with the key from the outside...
So...

I had been thinking about doing that, but I've decided not to do much engine mods to this Trol anymore. I'm leaving Aruba coming August and I don't think the costs outweigh the benefit.

Well, an update from Aruba, did some (a years worth) of driving, had a bunch of problems (2x new clutch, 1 new flywheel) but after all that trouble it seems to be going better al the time.

Well, I removed the intercooler and cleaned it. I think almost half a liter of oil came out of it and the hoses leading to it.
Engine runs a bit smoother now, but I'm hearing the turbo wistle. And...

Lot's of diesels are slightly smokey. Mine is extreme
I'll be sure to check the injection

I've allready posted som other questions on this board about my car but now i'd like to make a new one... I own a 1999 Patrol GR with the 2.8 tdi engine.
My patrol has allways been smokey...

They eventualy did that, but it was caked in mud foor more than a month. After the washdown they coated the underside in anti-rust, which seems nicely done. But i don't think they used 4L a lot,...

What if the red wire voltage reading is 13.8v?
That's what mine does. White is on 12 V which is the same as the battery voltage

Yes, that's what i thought. Someone with a bit of knowledge blocked the EGR, but didn't know to remove the butterfly.
After removing the butterfly, the engine is a lot less noisy...

What does the butterfly do by the way? And why can you remove it without trouble when the EGR is blocked?

Well, it's turned out that the EGR was blocked allready. I'm just removing the butterfly and that's about what i can do now. Just to find a place to get the injectors and pump looked at...

The smoke is black, and according to a co-worker, of a heavy fog like density...
Air filter (and fuel filter) was changed 2 months ago and it has only been running for 3 weeks since than.
