We did this conversion on a mates patrol last w/end.
Drove it into the shed friday arvo as a tb42 petrol/auto an drove it out sunday arvo as a deisel manual.
Used his old patrol for all the donor...
Give them a good clean ,rub them down with scotch bright an then wipe down with thinners.
Use compressed air to blow the rims dry an then give them a light coat of etch primer, wait about 1hr an...
A mates had one of the 95000 ironman winches for some time, He treats it an the rest of the car like s### an has managed to kill his winch.

Just get the 3/4 bench from a ute or wagon ,they bolt straight in once the consol is removed ,Seat belts etc fit up easily too,
just make sure ifyou get extractors that they also fit a decent sized flex joint(bellows) otherwise you will be for ever welding your extractors up

go pertronix and the extended rotor,gt40r coil or a flame thrower coil an make sure that your getting enough voltage to the coil.
The igition switch can rob voltage once they get a bit of wear in...

Have been using Active 2T for some time in my TD42 an it does seem to make the engine run a little smoother an quieter.

Systems working good, but i'm thinking about changing the muffler as this one makes it sound like a 3 litre when your giving it the berries.
Pull the original bonnet stop apart an slip an old shock rubber onto it follwed by a panel washer.
Then just do the nut up until the rubber mushrooms over the bonnet stop an screw the whole lot...
Yep still working after a couple of months ,2 spare good motors in the shed so if it dies i'll just change the whole motor.
Well the new exhaust is saving me about $10 a week,
I've fitted a 12" hotdog in the rear section which has quietened the note down a bit.

I just bought 3 metres of exhaust tube ,the muffler, 4 flanges an a 2 1/2" exhaust donut, About $200 all up plus the
$235 for the extractors.

Just spent the w/end making up an fitting a 2 1/2" system ,extractors an step through muffler.
Havent driven to far yet but it rev's easier an seems to pull a lot better .
Exhaust note isnt to bad...
