You could lay an old towel down or paper towel and iron it... I got dried up crystallized cough mixture out of my passenger seat this way

Thanks guys, found the issue.
My redundant EGR pipe had separated from the flange at the exhaust end.

Got a weird rattle coming from my front end, it seems to happen when decelerating either due too the harmonics of muddies or the motor not sure. its worse while driving but i can get it...

Diesel engines being a 'compression detonation' motor, I would say you have caused damage resulting in the loss of compression. I'm sure a bent rod could reduce its stroke resulting in low comp....
I'm going to go out on a limb and say its the little black box that catches the oil when you screw off your oil filter housing.

Thanks mate, I’m one step ahead. I checked my MAF this morning and my idle voltage was 1.03v and my EGR is blocked so should be more like 2.15v. I am starting to think that even though my fuel filter...
I will try some fuel system cleaner, I did drain the old filter into a jar and there was no evidence of water, there was how ever some black sludgy looking stuff that came out of the filter looking...

So on the weekend I spent 3 days out in the vic high country. Done a very tough track (middle ridge trk aka Mt Sunday rd) the following day my zd30di patrol seemed to lack...
When I did my head gasket in November I gave my turbo and intake a clean and it was pretty much pristine so the EGR block and catch can are doing there job.

Not yet, still a crimped aftermarket standard replacement cooler. An upgrade is on the cards but not really a priority currently, my egts aren’t to bad.

It now runs at 76 degrees when cruising on an average temp day, when on the highway at 100 it floats between 78-86 depending on weather. I have taken it into the vic high country since and on a 44...

Cheers mate, all good, it was only temporary until I replaced my oil pressure sender unit. All has been done and EGR is back in its usual place and fully inoperable [emoji23]

EGR is on vacation at the moment, I had a look this arvo and the sheet metal that is filling in for the EGR on the exhaust side looks to be leaking so might have a look at that tomorrow.
