Wow! What an amazing collection of knowledge and awesome resource.
I really appreciate the document and look forward to contributing to the forum in a positive way.
That's pretty reasonable. Do you have mods like a 3 inch exhaust that up the power a bit to get such good mileage towing?
I get 12-13l/100km in my 3.0CRD empty.
The G60 is a wepon. The only problem you will have is what not to do to it.
A clean slate is the best!
Looks like a solid rig!
I see your bar is bent forward a bit. The alloy bar on my GQ didn't last long after I started tackling some great tracks. Bent it nearly horizontal coming out of a mud bath.
Brisbane South side.
Welcome to the forum mate.
I bought a new CRD in '11 and have done 46K's. The engine is as tight as a drum and I've not had any problems with it - touch wood. It runs cool and smoothly. I hope...
No dead cat.
You're right - many posts in an still looking. It's been driving me crackers for a couple of years now.
When the car was 2 months old, my neighbour did his annual mow (no joke)...
Looks really neat.
What sort of economy are you getting out of it? I bet it's better than my old 4.2 GQ. 24L/100km on petrol and 33L/ 100km on gas - after a tune and gas reco!!
That's a fair bit cheaper that many others. Any increase in power?
What are you trying to fill mate?
Repainting's a great idea (Although not really durable, especially around the window switches). Will they mix the paint with a flexible additive suitable for plastic so that it doesn't harden and...
True!
It's raining in Brisbane today. I've just open the car (That has been in the garage) and it smell like wet dank ass today!
Never spilled anything in the car. It's so disgustingly clean...
I agree - About a year ago, I tried the bicarb option. Still stinks
Welcome - They're a real friendly bunch here.
I note you bought the Y61 '97 in '98. Has it been a good rig?
Just about passed out from the stink.
Started the dismantling - the camera on a stick shows spotless cavities.
By process of elimination, I'm Pretty sure it's the felted interior wheel well...
Get a diesel - problem solved!
Definitely the CRD. Newer technology and better fuel economy especially towing a heavy load.
Hi,
I can imagine your frustration. I've got a 2011 manual wagon. At 25K I noticed a bit of edge wear, and since then check my tyre pressure very regularly and rotate EVERY 10K. I found two...
Got the trim removal kit and a camera for cavities. I'll dismantle after work tomorrow.
Thanks for the tips guys - I'll update as soon as I find something.
I'm really looking forward to...
Thanks guys - What a friendly bunch!
Thanks for the ideas guys. Its definatly not diff oil, but youre right - that stuff stinks. It's not dead either. I got an unsuspecting victim to come for a ride in the car with me - her first...
Good thoughts timE - But sadly no.
Im in Brisbane. The smell has 'developed' At first I thought that the diesel filler neck was spilling into the cabin ever so slightly, but the smell has just gotten worse. Given that there are...
Sorry Threedogs - My manners are poor - Intro completed.
Stropp - It's definately inside the car - No smell outside. The trimmed wheel arch covers inside that the carpet butts up to seem to be...
